What is life coaching?

Let's start with what it's NOT.  Life coaching is not therapy.  It is not counseling*.  It is not sharing your deepest, darkest secrets.  It is not analyzing what your mom did when you were a child...or adult...(although it might include thanking her for this growth opportunity).  It is not continuing to think the same thoughts and expecting different results.

Life coaching is a way to change your thinking.  A way to help you step out of your comfort zone.  A boost of courage to take a leap of faith and do something you've always wanted to do, but maybe haven't had the confidence or follow through to do.   It's learning to catch your thoughts when they're running in circles, going nowhere, like a hamster on a wheel.  It's tuning in to your intuition...and trusting it.   It's opening to the opportunities life provides us, but we've been too scared to accept.

What would I use life coaching for?

For any area of your life you want to improve.  To become healthy.  To apply for a promotion.    To start a new relationship.  To start a family.  To launch a new business.  To find the confidence to go back to school.  To find joy in the life you're already living.  You tell me.  In what part of your life are you sitting comfortably, but stagnantly?  Where do you need a little nudge to regain your youthful vigor and belief that you really can be anything you want to be and do anything you want to do?  I am as excited to find out what you're capable of as you are!

I noticed life coaching is not inexpensive...

You're right.  Life coaching is not inexpensive.  And here's why.

I am highly invested in you.  I want to provide you with the best support I can, so I limit my number of ongoing clients to 20.  That means I'm only thinking about, at most, 20 people at a time.  And trust me, I'm always thinking about you and your situation and your growth opportunities...(when I'm grocery shopping, when I'm driving, when I'm brushing my teeth, when I'm taking out the trash...)  I am invested in you.  I want you to be invested in you.

Another reason for the investment, is that making a change is not easy.  It requires constant focus and attention, until it becomes a habit.  Therefore, I provide many different opportunities for you to practice your new habit...and I want to know you are invested in practicing.

And finally, making coaching an investment weeds out the people who are not invested in themselves, which prevents heartache on my part...( because I think about you even as I'm falling asleep at night.)

So here's the thing, I only want clients who are truly invested in themselves.

You pay for everything with time or with money.

If you still want move forward in your life, but aren't ready to make the commitment to coaching, all is not lost.  You can gain insights from many different mentors for free at your local library!  I have a list of books and websites I think are completely invaluable for encouraging you along your path.  Check them out on my DIY Books page.
